Playoff Tie Breaker Rules

In the event of a tie in the round robin portion of the playoffs, it will broken by the following:

1. who won when the tied teams played head to head
2. most wins
3. goal differential in the playoffs, with no game being more than a plus 5
4. fewest goals against
5. fewest team penalty minutes
6. team reps arm wrestle (or flip a coin)

In the summer league, first tie break is the regular season standings. Second is fewest goals against in the playoffs. Third is fewest goals against regular season. Fourth is fewest PIM for the combined regular season and playoffs.

If there is a tie in the final game, if time allows, there will be a sudden death overtime of a duration agreed upon by the team reps and game officials. Time must be allowed for a shootout after if there is not a goal in overtime .

For the shootout each team will select 5 shooters. If tied after 5 shooters, each team will continue to select another shooter until there is a winner. No shooter may go twice until all the players on the team have taken a shot. When one team has sent every player for a shot, they may mix up the order of the shooters for the second time through. As soon as one team is in a position to send a shooter for a second attempt, the other team may send a shooter for a second time as well, without sending all of their players for a penalty shot attempt. The goalie may shoot if the team so chooses, but is not obliged to.
